Master Scuba Diver

Do ye wish to master the art of diving?

This course is the highest non-leadership level course offered by NAUI. Like anything we wish to do, practice and further study almost always leads to greater and greater proficiency. This course is designed to go much more into depth on all of the aspects of diving that have been covered in other courses.

It is designed for the diver who wishes to finely hone their diving skills to the level of excellence. You will be able to demonstrate superior ability in all the basic and advanced scuba skills. You will achieve perfect buoyancy with the ability to hover motionless at any depth. You will develop an in-depth knowledge of the different equipment and manufacturers, including advantages and disadvantages of each.

In this course you will also develop a deeper understanding of the applied sciences that related to scuba diving. You will understand and be able to relate to others why dive equipment functions as it does and the intricacies of the different decompression algorithms.

This course is a prerequisite to NAUI Leadership courses for those interested in perusing a career in the diving industry.

Prerequisites:

Age: 17

Diver Certification: Rescue Diver or Equivalent

Health: No medical contraindications (see questionnaire for details), may need medical approval at instructors discretion.

Skill Prerequisites:

  • Swim 225yds non-stop using any stroke in 6 minutes or less
  • Recover 10lbs weight from 10' of water
  • Tread water for 15 minutes
